For 60 years the Rotary Beef BBQ has been a highlight of the Loggers Sports Festival. The beef roasts, slow cooked on a rotisserie over an open alder fire, and served with onions on a brioche bun, are an annual tradition.
This year, we had a challenge due to the fire and campfire ban - we couldn’t use the open fire and had to pivot to find a different way to keep the tradition alive.
Thanks to the amazing support from the Squamish community, we were able to cook the beef offsite, prepare it as usual, and still serve up the mouth-watering sandwich for all to savour.
