Together the four Sea to Sky clubs have raised $17,375 for PolioPlus ($15,635 online and $1,740 offline).
After the funds are tripled by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, this could purchase over 66,000 doses of the oral polo vaccine or 40,000 vaccine carriers to keep the polio vaccine cool during transport.
A wonderful event with the four clubs joining forces for a great cause.

Some highlights:

  • Kevin & Vicki Haberl (Squamish) were the top individual fundraisers with $1,780 in donations during their 93km backpacking hike..
  • Patrick McCurdy (Whistler Millennium) pedalled over 500km raising $1,380.
  • The Shady Ladies (Whistler Millennium) fulfilled a promise and did a naked plunge into Green Lake when they reached $1,000 in donations.
  • The Squamish Team raised $5,375 (including offline) but were pipped at the post in online donations by the Whistler Millennium team.
  • The campaign was the idea and initiative of Gill Forester, Whistler President, and supported by all the club Presidents.
