When I left Canada many people told me that the 3rd month would be the hardest. I would feel homesick and get lonely. I think all things considered I'm doing pretty well! Now that I am in Thailand, I have a lot of free time on my hands. It gives me lots of time to think. Buddhist religion believes strongly that in every situation there is always a negative and positive side. It is the choice you make that changes things. You have the option of being positive or negative towards any situation. Sometimes when you are sad and upset it is hard to brake through and think positive. I think it is because deep down you need time and you are not ready to move forward. Anyways all this to say that I learn a lot on the beliefs of Thai people and so far I agree with them on everything.
This month: I met all the other YE of my district. We had an orientation in Chanthabury, south of Thailand. We had many activities planed such as; cleaning a beach (So hot!! we all felt like we were melting and our feet were burning!) kayaking, dolphin shows, Halloween partyâ?¦ We had lots of fun and had a nice chance to get to know each other. Not only was it fun but also our destination was ideal! We were right on the beach, the water was perfect and clear and we were treated like kings and queens. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely. There was a boat-racing event in my city that occurs once a year. The boats are very old traditional style and they are decorated with flowers and even incants at the tip of the boat. The race was on the Muang River and the winning team had the honor of receiving a gift from the Royal family. It was quiet an event and I enjoyed being a spectator. I will be changing host families at the end of this month. As much as I love my family I'm sure I will have just as much fun with my second one. My home is just outside Ubon but I will still be attending the same school. I will be living with my two parents, a brother and three huge dogs. (Kind of worried about the last part :P) Not much is happening right now, going to school, hanging out, helping my parents at their shop and working on my Thai. â~º I miss you all very much and hope you are all healthy and happy! Sending my love Mylène p.s. sorry that my report is late once again :P hihii
