Gurpreet Singh: Indians Abroad for Pluralist India
12:00noon: Online ZOOM meeting. email us to join.

Gurpreet Singh is an independent journalist and a published author, who works as a broadcaster with Spice Radio in Burnaby and writes for Georgia Straight. He is also the Director of Radical Desi, an online magazine that covers alternative politics and the cofounder of Indians Abroad for Pluralist India, a group that was established in response to growing attacks on religious minorities in India under a right wing Hindu nationalist government.

He will be speaking about the seven years of Modi government in India and what it means for the minorities and political dissidents in the world's so called largest democracy.

Modi belongs to a Hindu supremacist organization called RSS that wants to transform India into Hindu theocracy. Ever since he became the Prime Minister in May, 2014, the repression of minority communities, especially Muslims and Christians has grown.
