Squamish Rotary Club -The Squamish Rotary Club is pleased to organize an evening fundraiser in tribute of one of Squamish's most notable locals, and first medical doctor, Dr. Laverne Kindree.

Dr. Kindree has been the recipient of a host of awards for his impressive lifetime of continuous service, and care to the community's of the Sea to Sky Corridor.    Dr. Kindree has been instrumental in health care improvements since his original campaign to have Squamish's first hospital built in 1952.  He is an example of excellence and achievement in health care, humour and humanity, a remarkable pioneer for medicine, a leader for business, and an example of grace and kindness that the whole community can be proud of.

The Gala Dinner will be held at the Brennan Park Leisure Centre on November 24, 2007.  Tables of eight will be sold for $2,000 each, and can be purchased by contacting a Rotary member. This special tribute will include entertainment, auctions, a sumptuous dinner, and speeches honouring a man who has contributed greatly to the social fabric of the corridor. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Squamish Health Care Foundation Society in Dr. Kindree's name.

Local businesses and individual wishing to assist in this celebration of Dr. Kindree are asked to contact Bill McNeney - bp-mcneney@shaw.ca   .  The Squamish Rotary Club has set a goal of $100,000 to support this very worthwhile project; however they will need full community support to be successful.
