May is Youth Services Month
Youth Service refers to the youngest generation in the family of Rotary. Many are participants in Rotary’s youth and young adult programs: Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), and Rotary Youth Exchange. Youth Service became Rotary’s 5th Avenue of Service in 2010. Youth Service recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities, involvement in community and international service projects, and exchange programs that enrich and foster world peace and cultural understanding.
The Howe Sound Interact Club recently held their Global Awareness Dinner. It was a well attended and fun evening. The kids raised nearly $4,000, well above their goal of $1,000. The proceeds will go to the Hosanna Children's Home in Kenya.
